Enrollment & Admissions

Lewinsville Montessori

Admissions always begin with a private tour and meeting with our Director of Operations. At that time, you will be able to visit our facility, see our program in action, as well as learn more about the Montessori Method of education and learning. This is also an opportunity to have your initial questions addressed and answered.

During the initial visit, an information packet will be provided that outlines the special Lewinsville Montessori's approach and includes the forms necessary for the child(ren) to be considered for enrollment.

Please Note: An official offer will be made once the Admissions and Enrollment processes have been completed. Lewinsville Montessori provides only full-time care for children and does not offer any part-time care options.

Enrollment is offered on a rolling-admission basis throughout the school year as space becomes available. Consideration is given to the age and gender of the child(ren) so as to create and maintain a balanced distribution in each classroom environment. This is especially important in the Nido III and Casa dei Bambini/Children's House multi-age programs.

  1. Send inquiry to [email protected] OR submit contact form under our "Contact Us" tab.
  2. Schedule a tour (in-person or virtual) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  4. If and when a space becomes available, LM will contact prospect parent(s) from the waitlist on a first come, first serve basis.
  5. If prospective parent(s) accept the space, a $450.00 security deposit must be paid to hold the space:
    • Start date must be determined at such time.

Waitlist Fee/One-Time Registration Fee

A one-time, nonrefundable fee of $200.00 per child is required to place a child on our waitlist. The anticipated enrollment date will be established at the time of payment. If a space becomes available, the waitlist fee will be applied as the registration fee. If a space is not available for the requested start date, the fee will remain nonrefundable.

Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of $450.00 is due when a space is offered and accepted, but no later than one month prior to the first day of attendance. This deposit secures the student’s enrollment for the scheduled start date and is not applied toward the first month’s tuition.

The security deposit will only be refunded or credited if written notice of withdrawal is provided at least two months (60 days) in advance (beginning on the first day of the month) and all account balances are paid in full.

Semi-Annual Activity & Materials Fee

A nonrefundable semi-annual activity and materials fee of $150.00 per child is due at the time of enrollment (prorated) and then on each January 1 and July 1 to help offset classroom only expenses such as Montessori materials, furniture, playground equipment, supplies, and special activities such as artists-in-residence programs.

Tuition Payments & Late Fees

Enrollment starts on the agreed upon start date. Parents understand and agree that they are responsible for tuition for the entire enrollment period regardless of if the parent decides to postpone the child’s start beyond the start date. For convenience, the payment for the enrollment period is broken into monthly payments. These monthly tuition payments must be received on or before the first day of each month of the enrollment period in accordance with the enrollment agreement and the program selected. Should a parent choose to postpone the child’s start beyond the start date listed in the enrollment agreement, the parent is responsible for a payment of 50% of the listed monthly tuition for each delayed month until the child actually starts. A 7% late fee will be charged to all payments made after the first day of the month. Tuition payments that are three or more calendar days overdue will be sufficient reason for immediate termination of the child’s enrollment from the program. Any deposit fees will be applied to the delinquent fee and will be deemed nonrefundable.

Tuition is based on the individual class that a child is assigned, not the actual age of the child.

Tuition rate changes are set annually (every September) but are also subject to change with at least 30-day notice. Rate changes are usually between 3-5% annually.

Method of Payment and Failed Payments

We receive payments by check or through our child care application. There is a processing fee that you will be charged for using our child care application for payment processing. ACH processing fees are lower than debit/credit card processing fees. You will be charged $40.00 for returned checks and for any ACH/credit card rejections; no exceptions. Checks should be made payable to “Lewinsville Montessori”. If more than one personal check is returned due to insufficient funds, the payee will be required to pay all future fees by cash, money order or cashier’s check; no exceptions.

Discounts

Sibling
A sibling discount of 10% will be applied to the older child(ren) tuition rate.

Military
A military discount of 10% will be applied to all active-duty military families. Proof of active-duty is required. If you have multiple children enrolled, each child will receive a 10% discount.

Discount Policy

Sibling and military discount cannot be combined.

Referral Tuition Credits

Parents who refer other families, who subsequently enroll and are fully paid for at least two months, will receive a $250.00 tuition credit for each referral.

Absences due to Vacations, Holidays, Inclement Weather, Emergency Closures & Illness

Tuition payments are not based on attendance. Tuition is paid to reserve your child’s space in the program. As the center’s operational expenses do not decrease when a child is absent, classroom enrollment is maintained as long as tuition payments remain current. Tuition is charged at the established monthly rate for all children enrolled full-time, with no deductions or credits for absences due to illness, vacation, inclement weather, emergency closures, or holidays.

Final Month Tuition

After written notice of withdrawal has been given two full months (60 days) in advance (starting at the first day of each month) the final month’s tuition must be paid in full. Final month tuition will not be prorated based on days in attendance with the exception of rising Kindergarteners.

Other

Snacks (morning and afternoon) are provided for all children except for infants. Parents are required to bring their own food, formula, or breast milk for infants. Children must bring their lunch from home if not participating in the Schoolhouse Grill lunch service.

Extracurricular activities are at the discretion of parents. Lewinsville Montessori facilitates access to extracurricular activities, but parents are responsible for signing their child up and making payment to the vendor(s) directly.

Children transition to the next class when ALL of the following conditions are met:

  1. Age Requirement: The child must be age-appropriate for the next level. Licensing regulations require that children remain in their current classroom until they have reached the required age.
  2. Space Availability: Space must be available in the next classroom. If a child is age-ready but space is not yet available, the child’s teachers will continue to provide age-appropriate learning opportunities. Our staff are highly knowledgeable about the developmental needs of children at each stage of early childhood education, and our Montessori classrooms are designed to support a range of developmental needs.
  3. Developmental Readiness: The child must be developmentally ready in addition to meeting the age requirement. If a child is not developmentally ready, they will remain in their current classroom until they are prepared to transition successfully.

Transitions will be communicated to parents at least one month in advance.
